Inspiration is to Freedom as Temptation is to Slavery

                

This poem above is written in response to Fr. Philip Chircop's post
on living life as a bird in or out of a cage: 
unlike the bird, the freedom of a human being 

may be experienced as a "bird-out" of a cage 

even when life ensnares us

like the bird in captivity as a "bird-in" that loses its freedom. 

St Padre Pio would put it this way: Don't let the many snares of the infernal beast frighten you. Jesus, who is always with you, and who will fight with and for you, will never permit you to be tricked and overcome.  (Correspondence with Spiritual Daughters, Page 51)
