Eternal
Father
by
Mary Angela Nangini
“As
I lay me down to sleep”
I
say the familiar words
of
the Mercy Chaplet
and
my soul is met
Eternal
Father
…and
I hear myself in conversation
I
love saying these words
Eternal
Father
…and
my soul is flooded
with
the warmth of milk and honey
Eternal
Father
having
come through the desert
lost
thirsty
abandoned
an
oasis Eternal Father?
…what comfort
...what peace
Eternal
Father
more
than carved in the palm of his hand
Eternal
Father
more
than resting in the promise of his love
carried
in the womb of His Heart
Eternal
Father!
